How To Create The Best Day Ever!
DON’T WAIT…START TODAY TO CREATE
Don’t wait for someone else to provide you with the best day ever….it starts with you! I know you know that, but our mindset is bombarded with so many thoughts and emotions that challenge and/or contradict what you want to see happen in your day. It is a choice…YOUR CHOICE. You get to choose the mindset you want to have for each day you face. I get to choose the mood I want to have, the actions I want to take, the thoughts I want to focus on, and most importantly, I get to choose the person I want to be in MY space…every day!
No matter what you pay per gallon at the pump. No matter what your grocery bill is today. No matter what thoughts come into your mind, choose to think the best about yourself.
Each day you get to take the time to create your day’s journey, designing your best day ever, which ultimately leads to a fulfilling life. Take the time to ask yourself some simple questions: What kind of life do I want to have? Within my life, how would each day look and feel? What are my first steps in designing my best day and life ever? You are a Masterpiece.
Successful Tips to Having the Best Day Ever
In a perfect world, everything should go as planned. You would wake up on time, be excited about the new day, be alert, have perfect weather, people would be nice to you, have no financial burdens, career/business is taking off, health is 100%, You and your family are happy at the same time. NOT. However, you can still have the best day ever because you get to design it, live in it, and enjoy it. You control what you can control. It will not be the same as another’s day and it may not be the same as yesterday. It is a new day.
Choose Your Mindset for the Day - Just like you choose your outfit for the day, choose your MINDSET. I have read stories of people facing a health crisis in their bodies and how they choose to believe in something higher and greater than themselves to face it. They choose to see their bodies fighting, surviving, and thriving despite the diagnosis. They choose a mindset where they are healthy, living longer, and enjoying the friends and family around them. In many cases, they outlive the crisis.
Thankfulness – We say don’t stress the small stuff. How about we don’t forget the small stuff. Be thankful in the small moments, small victories, small blessings, and in those “uncertain” moments. Studies actually show that five minutes a day writing in your gratitude journal can increase your long-term well-being by more than 10 percent.
Reach Out and Touch – Diana Ross “Reach Out and Touch Somebody’s Hand” lyrics
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Take a little time out of your busy day
To give encouragement
To someone who's lost the way
(Just try)
Or would I be talking to a stone
If I asked you
To share a problem that's not your own
We can change things if we start giving
Be Present – You won’t have the best day ever if you are only observing. Be involved…be intentional. Focus on where you are in your day, what you’re doing, and the people you are with. We can’t relive the past nor predict the future…so embrace TODAY.
Make Key Choices – Each day have a goal to get one important thing done in any of these key areas: (1) professional (2) relational (3) financial (4) personal (5) physical (6) spiritual and (7) you create this category. Each day pick one (or more) category and decide how you want it to look. (For instance, financial. You may decide either for a day or a week to not get Starbucks and save some money.)
Plan Your Perfect Life…One Day At A Time – A perfect life is imperfect, and an imperfect life is perfect. What does that look like to you? Take the restrictions off. Get rid of the “I should’ve, could’ve, or would’ve.” Take the 7 areas listed above and expand them. What do those areas look like NOW without restrictions?
SAY YES – Say yes to those fears that are holding you back. Say yes to “what if I am exactly where I need to be today?” Say yes to opportunities, success, new things, the unknown, and to life.
SAY NO – Say no to self-limiting beliefs, to people holding you back, to any situation holding you from moving forward, and to insecurity.
Declutter – Your thoughts and your space. Even if it’s just a little space, a drawer, or a shelf… declutter it. It will have a wonderful effect on your mood and happiness level. If the clutter is in your thoughts, do a brain dump and write it all down…get it out!
Who Do You Love – Invest into your relationships. Design your day to have the right people around you who want to see you become successful in your life and you want the same for them. Take time to fill your relationship tank!
“I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.” Maya Angelou
THIS I KNOW FOR SURE …
At the end of each day, take the time to reflect and ask yourself, “what good thing(s) have I done today?” Set yourself up for success each day and for the next day! Start small. Start with one step at a time. Just one positive habit done daily can be the basis for a major change in your life down the road. Don’t despise small beginnings.
Feeling Good Song (lyrics) by Michael Bublé
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good
Dragonfly out in the sun, you know what I mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun, you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done, that's what I mean
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
So, make it YOUR CHOICE to have the best day ever.
